Discover the breathtaking landscape and high clifs off the North of Madeira.
The first stop of the northeast of madeira tour is in the Caves of São Vicente.
The caves provide a well-organized visit, lasting about 50 minutes and duly conducted by specialist guides. Whilst you are here, you will also watch a stunning, 3D multimedia show about the volcanism that gave rise to these beautiful islands in the Atlantic.
Then go to Ponta Delgada, a village on the north coast by the sea. Here, there is now a new bathing complex that includes two saltwater swimming pools, solarium and bar. We stop for 30 minutes.
The tour continues to the Arco de São Jorge. This village is unique because it is the only village on the coast of Madeira that is completely surrounded by mountains. The Arco de São Jorge is very fertile and capable of producing a variety of agricultural products due to its micro-climate in order to observe the various productions and visit the Rose Garden.
In Cabanas de São Jorge we stop for two hours for lunch and to enjoy the scenery and observe the unique architecture of this parish.
Continuing on our journey along the coast, we next visit Porto da Cruz, one of the parishes of Machico. The attractions of this small town are hidden and will take more than a distracted look to find them. One is the old sugar cane mill, still operating, unchanged with the passage of time, as it did when sugar was first produced here in 1927. One of the most impressive features of this small factory is the tower that measuring 26 meters high.
We continue the tour to Pico Facho, a viewpoint, where we see the beautiful and stunning landscape of Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico.
Our last stop is in Santa Cruz, where we spend 30 minutes in order to rest before returning to Funchal.
