We’ll take you to the highest peak accessible by car and to the East of the Island
In this tour to the East of Madeira Island, the first stop is in Terreiro da Luta, and it’s amazing view over Funchal. We stop here for 20 minutes, and the journey continues toward Pico do Areeiro.
At an altitude of 1818 metres, it is the third highest peak on the island and offers breathtaking views. Here we feel magnificent due to the altitude, stopping for 30 minutes.
After this, onward to Ribeiro Frio where we can visit an aquaculture post and also view the starting point for many other walks.
At Faial, we can see a large rock that separates Porto da Cruz from Faial. At Penha de àguia, lunch is served while observing the traditional Santana houses. We stop here for 2 hours.
Passing by Portela, we go in the direction of Ponta de São Lourenço, located in the east-most part of the island. The last city to visit is Machico, the second biggest city of Madeira.
