This jeep safari will take you through the following interest points:

We’ll start by travelling to Nuns Valley to a small visit to a magnificent villa with an unique geographic location, situated in a deep valley that resembles to a volcano crater. After this stop we’ll head to Boca dos Namorados, a viewpoint at 1100 meters over Nuns Valley, allowing us to contemplate from above this amazing scenery. Through a off-road trail, you will feel nature in its purest state, until we do a small stop in a typical madeiran bar to try the famous Poncha: a traditional drink made of Sugar Cane Rum, orange and lemon juice. After this small stop, we’ll move along to Cabo Girão Viewpoint, the highest promontory sea clif in Europe at  580 meters high, offering vertiginous views over the sea and a panoramic view over Câmara de Lobos and Funchal. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

We’ll start by heading to Ribeira Brava village and do a small stop for sightseeing. We will then climb to Paúl da Serra, a plateau in the centre of the island with spectacular views. To arrive there, we’ll go through Ponta do Sol and Canhas, two pictouresque villas and drive off-road with the possibility to make a small 20 min. walk. At Paúl da Serra we’ll start our descent though Fanal, an area with Laurel Forest classified World Heritage by Unesco. Arriving at Ribeira da Janela with breathtaking views, we’ll head to Porto Moniz where amazing scenery built by natural swimming pools will greet us. After we gather our strenghts we will carry on the coast towards Seixal and São Vicente, ending our day at a 1000 meters high viewpoint in encumeada.

Departing from Funchal we’ll climb towards Pico do Areeiro at 1810 meters, it’s the third highest peak in Madeira Island, providing you with an amazing scenery with a sea of clouds beneath your height. We will afterwards descent to the north of the island through Ribeiro Frio where we will make a small 45 min. walk to Balcões: a beautifull unique viewpoint in the heart of Laurissilva, surrounded by a lushfull green scenario. We will do a couple of off-road trails through several historic villas until we reach Santana, where we will make our stop for lunch. In the afternoon we’ll drive towards Faial heading to Porto da Cruz where we will visit a sugar-cane rum factory. We’ll end our day with a visit to Ponta de São Lourenço, a Natural Reserve with panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Departing to the discover of the south coast of the island, we’ll head towards Ponta do Sol, where we will make our first morning stop. We will then head towards Prazeres where you will be given the chance to observe some of the local mores, from its church to the pedagogical farm. Heading to Ponrta do Pargo we’ll have the change to observe some of the unique sights the area provides. Arriving to Ponta do Pargo lighthouse with its breathtaking view over the sea, we’ll make our stop for lunch. We will then head to Garganta Funda viewpoint, a waterfall within a spectacular rock formation and some of the most spectacular views over the sea the island has to offer. Back to tarmac we’ll head to Paúl do Mar and Jardim do Mar, two unique sea-side towns rich in tradition and culture. We’ll make our final stop in Calheta with its yellow sand and surrounded by green mountains.

Departing from Funchal we’ll visit Santa Cruz village centre. Following to Porto da Cruz and visit its local sugar-cane rum factory, allowing you to learn a living story of a glorious past of sugar production in the island and travel back to the early 20th century. Heading to Santana, where we will visit the traditional culm ceiling houses (Casinhas de Santana), we’ll take an alternative route through São Jorge. After lunch we continue our tour throught the north coast passing through Boaventura, Ponta Delgada arriving to São Vicente. At the end of the day we’ll head back to Funchal, passing through Ribeira Brava.
